Our 2nd Season

As you likely know, Marci and I are volunteering on the largest hospital ship in the world (Mercy Ships Global Mercy). It is the first ship built specifically to be a state of the art hospital. We travel to poor countries in Africa and provide free surgery which would be otherwise inaccessible. But HOSPITALS NEED BLOOD and we don’t have a traditional blood bank. Ours is a “walking blood bank”! That’s right, crew get paged when their blood type is needed and it goes from the volunteer to the OR. Today was my turn!
