“UN-DOCKING” the world’s largest private hospital ship is a monumental task. I have mentioned that we are undergoing our annual maintenance (and that the ship is out of the water to complete that required 5-year inspection). Everything looks “GO” to slip back into the ocean tomorrow. It is a long, careful, process which will take about 12 hours. Last minute repairs were completed and we are getting her back into “ship shape”!

Another interesting thing happened today. We received a shipment (things like fresh food and medical supplies) but our crane is down so we had to carry a truck load up very steep dock-yard steps for 11 floors! Being the amazing people who fill the volunteer positions at Mercy Ships, we formed a chain of well over 100 people (looking like organized ants) and got the job done in the hot Spanish sun.

I am so very proud of our GLM community! This was a seemingly impossible task when a small team started unloading and carrying the heavy cargo up the stairs. You brought Hope and Happiness to my heart today!
