Saying goodbye well…

What does that even look like? When Matt and I were in Texas for our Mercy Ships onboarding, one of the topics was about how important it is to say goodbye well. While this is especially important for families taking children on the mission, it applies to all volunteers with long term commitments.

We have so many family members and friends whom we will miss dearly. We want to make sure they know how we feel about them, what they mean to us, and most importantly, that they will be missed!

We have begun to say goodbye, or see you later, to family and friends in Washington. It’s hard!

I had coffee with 2 of my favorite ladies (Laura and Bekah) last week, but that doesn’t feel like enough 💔

Mija, Evelyn and Carlos, we need another date night! We love you both to the moon and back!

I am buying as much time as possible before really saying goodbye to the best neighbors we have ever had (that’s you, Brandon Family) we love you guys so much!

Before Matt left for Texas and Madagascar 2 weeks ago we had dinner with Kiana and spent the weekend with our special Bug ❤️. That goodbye tore Matt’s heart out (I got an extra 2 days with her before my goodbye 😞) I spent some quality time with my sister Jennifer, my nieces, and my daddy. I don’t know if I will ever see my dad again. 💔

I spent the this last week with one of my best friends…we have been friends since 2nd grade…that’s 50 YEARS! She has been there for all my ups and downs…love you, Stefani!

Next week is our last week in Yakima and we will say goodbye to our Stone Church family, who are such a huge blessing in our lives and continue to provide us with the spiritual support we need as we embark on this mission.

Next, we will begin our travels to Colorado and South Carolina to say ‘see ya later’ to Matt’s family, our children, and our sweet Chloe girl.

We are blessed. We are excited. We are grateful. But we are also sad. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We love you all! ❤️❤️
