FREETOWN, Sierra Leone, Africa. We had the great pleasure of visiting the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. This is NOT a zoo. This is where the national animal of Sierra Leone is rescued from illegal captivity and (hopefully) retrained to live in the jungle in the future. There are currently over 100 animals in various stages of rehabilitation. An amazing day!
