Once in a while we will do a quick post with some up to date details…. Here is the first!

Matt has been busy with Mercy Ships meetings. This morning he started at 5:30 am PST (makes it easier to virtually meet with folks in Africa). Then there was a training call and then a group meeting with folks from Mercy Ships HQ in Texas.

The remainder of the day was spent with our dear pastoral team at Yakima’s Stone Church. A great lunch with Pastors Jeff, Manny, and Keila. We left feeling loved, supported, and a part of the Stone Church global family.
From there we had an excellent coffee meeting with Pastor Larry (he leads the missions ministry at Stone). Larry (with over 60 years of missions experience) gave us sage advice for our upcoming service.

Things are really starting to feel “real”. Last night we got our plane tickets to both Texas and then Sierra Leone Africa. This is a whole new travel experience. We start on Alaska Air, go to Air Canada, then United, and finally Pan African Air. The estimated trip time is 34 hours….
